The Faculty of Food and Biochemical Technology at University of Chemistry and Technology, Prague is one of the leading centres of food science and biochemical research in the Czech Republic. Founded in 1952, the faculty continues a long tradition of education in food chemistry, brewing, fermentation, biotechnology, and applied biochemistry dating back to the Prague Polytechnic.

FFBT combines chemistry, biology, and modern food technologies with strong research activities in food safety, nutrition, microbiology, and biologically active compounds. The faculty cooperates with international universities and industry partners and offers bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study programmes in both Czech and English.

Students gain both theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory experience using advanced analytical instrumentation. Graduates pursue careers in the food and biotechnology industries, scientific research, quality control, and academia in the Czech Republic and abroad.
